Rio Hostel mixes individual dorm beds with two private rooms. In the dorms you book a single bed in a bunk: there is an eight-bed dorm for women only and three mixed dorms with four, six and eight beds. If you would rather close the door behind you, there is the twin room, with two single beds, and the family room, with two single beds and a bunk for four people; both have a private bathroom.
Every option comes with bed linen, and most add air conditioning, heating and a socket by the bed. Several have a landmark or inner courtyard view, and the four- and six-bed mixed dorms also have a balcony and a terrace. Bring your own padlock for the safe and the lockers. The building has no lift.
A bunk bed in an eight-bed dorm reserved for women: men are not allowed, and bookings that break the rule are cancelled. It is the option for women travelling alone who prefer to share only with other women. It has air conditioning, heating, a socket by the bed and a landmark view. You book one bed, not the whole room.
